About Me

Hi, I'm John!

I'm from Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland. I am due to graduate this summer from Edinburgh Napier University with a Bachelor's degree with Honours in Film. The last 4 years has been a whirlwind and I have learnt so much about myself and storytelling alike.

As a queer and neurodivergent storyteller, I strive to focus on telling stories that highlight under-represented individuals. Growing up, I never felt I saw myself represented on screen, so why not do it myself! Queer representation has improved leaps and bounds over the years but there are still massive gaps of groups that are not represented authentically, or at all.

Across projects I have worked on in and outside of my studies, I always bring a positive attitude and never forget to take my smile with me!

As I progress into my career I hope to continue working with teams that are open to innovative collaboration, and that share a common desire to tell stories about those that are missing authentic representation.
